It is already November.

IT IS ALREADY NOVEMBER.

Has this idea really hit you guys yet? Yet another year has almost gone by, and I think nearly everyone will be glad to be rid of 2016.

We could very easily harp on all the bad things that have happened this year, but let’s be optimistic. Here are 14 things you can look forward to in this month alone.

1. Doctor Strange – November 4

The latest Marvel masterpiece is here, and, if you’re half as pumped as I am, you already have your ticket. Personally, I have been waiting for Benedict Cumberbatch to become a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for far too long.

Word is – get this – he’s fantastic. The film currently has 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. It has been widely praised for its visual effects, and it’s recommended that you see it in IMAX, as over an hour of the final cut was specifically formatted for such an experience.

2. The Peanut Festival – November 4 through 13

Some of you may not be aware of the Peanut Festival, but I have been going for as long as I can remember, and it’s kind of a big deal. It has been going on since 1938 and now attracts 150,000 people over a 10-day event. Rides, animals, concerts, vendors, and much more, you can go to the Festival in Dothan, AL, about two hours from Tallahassee.

3. The End of Daylight Savings Time – November 6

It’s time to fall back again, and proudly take that extra hour of sleep. While I personally think Daylight Savings Time is ridiculous, I will take that extra hour any day of the week. This also means that it’s going to be getting darker stupid early. But, hey, all the better for the soon to be coming Christmas lights, right?

4. Election Day – November 8

FINALLY, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WE WILL HAVE AN ANSWER. Sorry not sorry, but I am sooooo done with all of this. I am ready to have an answer to accept and move on with our lives, as if it will be that easy. Whatever you believe, whoever you’re voting for, I do have to make a quick plug to remind you to just vote. Just do it. It’s your right. Do not let it go to waste.

5. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – November 18

For all you Harry Potter fans out there, prepare to experience the prequel of the acclaimed films, starring Best Actor winner Eddie Redmayne, that’s been five years in the making. Fantastic Beasts ushers in the new era of Potter films. Be there for the beginning.

6. Thanksgiving Break – November 23through 25

For students everywhere, the idea of a break may be more exciting than the actual holiday. If that’s true for you, then happy holidays. You have three days off to make the most of it.

7. Moana – November 23

What is sure to be Disney’s latest hit is in theaters just in time for your Thanksgiving trip to the movies. And maybe my favorite thing about this film, starring Dwayne Johnson and new-comer Auli’i Cravalho, is that Disney has stated there will be no love interest. Crazy, right? Who would have ever thought it possible (she said sarcastically).

Also, for all you Hamilton fans out there, Lin-Manuel Miranda worked on the songs for Moana, so get pumped.

8. Thanksgiving – November 24

Why are there no songs about Thanksgiving? Surely someone could pen a tune about rivers flowing with gravy down mountains of mashed potatoes and turkey? Sure, Halloween has good candy, but Thanksgiving brings food that feeds your soul. And the whole family aspect of it is pretty great too, depending on your family I guess.

9. Black Friday – November 25

For those willing to brave the crowds, Black Friday is the long-awaited shopping day of the year. To you all, I wish you well. Please don’t kill anyone over a semi-great deal on a TV.

10. Gilmore Girls – November 25

This may honestly be the number one thing I’m excited for this November. Nine years later, we finally get to get more of our favorite mother-daughter duo, in which I see far too much of me and my own mother.  Not to mention, we go back to the town of Stars Hollow, a character unto itself.

So while y’all are out Black Friday shopping, I will be binging the four new episodes of what is sure to be one of the greatest things to come out of 2016.

11. Cyber Monday – November 28

And for all of us too lazy (or too smart) to deal with Black Friday, there’s Cyber Monday. Enjoy fantastic deals all day long without leaving the comfort of your home (unless you’re back in school already … sorry).

12. Football, y’all

We are in the very heart of football. And watching the Cowboys play on Thanksgiving is kind of a tradition in our house. Appreciate football while we have it because, unfortunately, it’s not a year-round past-time.

13. Cooler Weather – ???

Maybe we will get to a consistent average temperature of below 75 degrees. Maybe. Maybe it will be lower. But this is Florida, so there is literally no telling. Cooler weather means scarves (!), beanies (!!), and sitting around a fire making s’mores (!!!). So y’all get ready because winter, at some point, is coming.

14. Just being that much closer to Christmas

I know many of you are probably just counting down the days to Christmas. One of my roommates is physically holding herself back from putting up our two trees already. But there’s a reason why this is at the end of my list. BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO WAIT. For crying out loud, there is still 1/6 of the year left until Christmas. You are not allowed to put up your tree yet. At least wait until the day after Thanksgiving. I love Christmas as much as the next person, but a time for everything, guys. And now it’s that much closer.
